Gratitude: A Comprehensive Campaign Newsletter, Reply Envelope

I worked with the university's executive director of development to develop this tab-sized direct mail newsletter as the first introduction to the public phase of a comprehensive campaign. The successful campaign funded a new student activities center, student chapel with clock tower, a new outdoor plaza for gatherings and the renovation of the student community center where the dining hall, banquet rooms, and bookstore are now located.


The title, Gratitude, stems from the institution's core value (and fundraising best practice) of responsible stewardship. Together, the director and I wrote and edited the copy and oversaw the design. Content led with the campaign and naming opportunities, and touched on planned and major giving, endowment, annual fund, and student philanthropy.


We negotiated the donation of the printing costs with one of our vendors.


A donation/pledge enveloped was stitched to the center fold.
